About Author
I was born and raised in South Africa, where I married my best friend and companion, Stephen.
We are blessed with three wonderful children: Andrew, Leonard, and Rachel.
In late 2006, we made the decision to immigrate to New Zealand. However, my lifelong struggle with lung issues, which worsened during my teenage years and persisted after moving, led me to consider dietary changes. At the suggestion of a family member, I decided to eliminate gluten bread from my meals to see if it would alleviate my lung issues.
To my surprise, this dietary adjustment brought significant relief, prompting me to adopt a gluten-free lifestyle. Additionally, I discovered that dairy products also negatively affected my lungs. By eliminating both gluten and dairy from my diet, I witnessed a gradual improvement in my overall health.
As someone who had to navigate the challenges of being gluten and dairy-free, I found it difficult to find recipes that were both delicious and satisfying. Determined to enjoy tasty food without compromising my dietary needs, I embarked on a journey to create my own allergy-friendly recipes. This is where my vision and passion for allergy-friendly baking took root. I thoroughly enjoy experimenting with various intriguing ingredients, and over the years, my baking has become a treat and a blessing for others who share the same allergies or even those who don't.
In 2015, I faced another health setback, receiving a diagnosis for additional issues. This prompted me to make another significant change in my diet: going sugar-free. This decision had a transformative effect on my health. I delved deeper into researching the relationship between food and hormonal balance, as well as inflammation management.
The choice to go sugar-free completely shifted my perspective on baking. It presented a substantial challenge, but one I eagerly embraced, resulting in the creation of a whole new range of recipes.
Over time, numerous customers expressed their desire for me to share my recipes, which brings me to this labor of love—a collection of delicious allergy-friendly dishes.
